@dmytro-anokhin Tuist doesn't read your .xcconfig
and skip setting values if they are already defined in your .xcconfig
file. If I understood your use-case well, it seems that you'd prefer to set the mergeable settings through .xcconfig files, in which case I'd recommend not using the idiomatic API that Tuist offers at the target level.

@pepicrft I think the problem is with code that generates -Wl,-reexport_framework/-Wl,-merge_framework
pairs. This does not happen with mergedBinaryType: .automatic
.
Did a bit more testing and if I specify settings in Project.swift
like this:
let settings: Settings = .settings(
base: [
"OTHER_LDFLAGS": [
"-ObjC"
]
]
)
Tuist respects it, but won't add -Wl,-reexport_framework/-Wl,-merge_framework
:
//:configuration = Debug
OTHER_LDFLAGS = -ObjC
//:configuration = Release
OTHER_LDFLAGS = -ObjC
When I explicitly provide $(inherited)
:
let settings: Settings = .settings(
base: [
"OTHER_LDFLAGS": [
"$(inherited)",
"-ObjC"
]
]
)
I get these build settings:
//:configuration = Debug
OTHER_LDFLAGS = $(inherited) -Wl,-reexport_framework,Framework
//:configuration = Release
OTHER_LDFLAGS = $(inherited) -Wl,-merge_framework,Framework
