There's an option in the client's 'pull' command called --mode, which
tweaks the exported file, maybe that's the best place to have it:

Well, Transifex itself needs to support pseudo files (for people who do not use the client). So, adding the code to the client as well would mean having duplicate functionality and would double the maintenance cost.

That said, we would be interested to release the relevant code as a library for other projects to use in the future.
