I’m not sure about this. You’re always at the centre of the main screen. Is there a use case you’re thinking of particularly?

Subject:  [satellite-eyes] Show where you are (#33)

It'd be nice to to have a subtle marker showing where you are.

You could just stick an icon there on your desktop :P

Two specific use cases come to mind:

  • Work in downtown Manhattan and "interesting geography" is uptown. Want to render map off-center.
  • Desktop shortcuts in the way, and want to render map off-center.

@bobthecow's workaround is good for now though :)

Also, if you have a multimonitor setup, the map wraps around the monitors, and its not clear where you are (which, I assume, is the center of the primary monitor)

Yeah, it's always the centre of the primary monitor.
