When you do it like this:

button_1 = customtkinter.CTkButton(master=frame_1,
                                   corner_radius=10,
                                   command=button_function,
                                   fg_color="green",
                                   hover_color="red")
button_1.place(relx=0.5, rely=0.5, anchor=tkinter.CENTER)

then your button should be green (fg_color), and when you hover over it, it should be red (hover_color).

And you can also pass a tuple (light_color, dark_color) as a color, so that it changes to the light or dark
color when you change the appearance mode:

customtkinter.set_appearance_mode("Light")
customtkinter.set_appearance_mode("Dark")
customtkinter.set_appearance_mode("System")  # macOS only

from customtkinter.
