This issue may also occur with other helm sources. Therefore if may perhaps be better to fix it in helm instead of helm-bibtex. I could also argue that it should be fixed in fringe-mode because fringe-mode messes up window-width which is supposed to return the number of available characters per line. With fringe mode switched on window-width reports more chars than are actually available, that's why helm-bibtex breaks the lines.

Hi, I added a workaround, see 6cc8b0e. This also fixes the layout when using Emacs in terminals. Thanks for reporting this issue.
