commit bc632a9 is a work in progress. The unit test passes on medium, but on basic2 spurious memory errors occur, most likely due to calls to tpie_delete from all the various threads in qsort_job::on_done (parallel_sort.h).

Parallel quick sort has been implemented and is used in internal_sort.h when USE_PARALLEL_SORT is enabled in the CMake cache.

Great, thanks for closing this issue. What is maturity state of parallel sort, I understand it's not enabled by default? Does it have any drawbacks over std::sort?

It was disabled by default when we did the master vs. filestream benchmarks, to give the two branches equal footing. Now it's on by default since it's stable as far as I know.
