Hi @karthikeyann and thank you for your interest in pydeps.
Cython support sounds interesting, but I can see a central issue that needs to be solved first... pydeps
works by calling (a specialized version of) Python's modulefinder
module - which inspects the byte-code looking for imports. This accomplishes three objectives: (1) we don't need to import or execute the module to find what it imports [*], (2) we don't need to write one (or more) python parser(s), and (3) the module to filename mapping is already done for us (in exactly the same way that Python does it).
[*] this is both a positive (potentially faster, no side-effects, catches imports inside functions) and a negative (certain dynamic cases can't be caught).
