I had a similar issue and found that my audio file needed to be saved at 44.1khz (the original was 48khz) before it would sync properly on the car

@cosmotherobot interesting! My sound file is also 48khz I'll have to give that a go! If this is the problem we should update the documentation to show this

What bit rate, bit depth & file type do you have working at 44.1kHz?

wave file, 16 bits per sample, 44.1kHz sample rate, stereo channels

@bendudz my working audio file sample rate is 44.1khz, 32bit. Format is mp3 112kbps cbr

I have this exact problem as well, I found that relative to xLights, the car plays the .wav file roughly 250ms earlier so to workaround the wav I upload to the car has a 250ms delay at the start and it seems to 'fix' it for me!

Would like to know if this is something we can compensate for in xLights directly and if this is known/expected behaviour or not. I couldn't see anything in the documentation about sound delays.

Were you lining up the lights and music on your computer using AirPods or Bluetooth headphones? Heard those can add delays versus playing over speakers

We have the same issue.

Multiple computers and not using bluetooth (we sequence our house for Christmas too with xLights).

Observed it's only out of sync the first time the custom sequence is played. The N+1 time is fine so we have gotten in the habit of starting the sequence, immediately opening the door, then starting it a 2nd time.

Another idea for your issue specifically: try a different (faster) flash drive and see if anything changes?

No, internal speakers.

Glad to know it's not just me... I tried the "run it multiple times" thing, and it's a hit or miss for me on subsequent runs. I'll try to re-encode the wav file, maybe it has something to do with bitrate or something like that... just guessing here, would be nice to get some more feedback.

Using the one that came with the M3 (Samsung USB3) as well as a different drive.

Same result with MP3 or WAV audio.

The FSEQ files are about 3-5Mb in size so I doubt that's the issue. Also, the UI show's it's caching things anyway when gets ready to play.

Hi @cosmotherobot can you confirm what audio file specs work for you also please?

Good suggestions re: audio sampling. We'll investigate further on our side.
