I think you're right – that this requires some rethinking. However, I think that 30-minute blocks would be too small, especially on shorter screens. Brendan, Justin, and I spoke on Friday about the idea of showing time in 30-minute blocks while scrubbing, which might be a good approach.

Here is a quick mock up of what the timeline might look like with 30 minute blocks as well as hour-long blocks. I think free time is more accurately conveyed here.
