Is -trimpath a direct flag for go build or a gc option?

(Either way, supporting extra build flags sounds like a good idea)

@kolaente It's a direct flag for the go build subcommand:

remove all file system paths from the resulting executable.
Instead of absolute file system paths, the recorded file names
will begin with either "go" (for the standard library),
or a module path@version (when using modules),
or a plain import path (when using GOPATH).

It's only available on the Go 1.13 toolchain and is useful to create filesystem independent builds.
