比特币虽然是匿名的，但由于根据地址可追踪，因此比特币转移的监控和追踪不是问题。
ZCASH等匿名币无法根据地址追踪，如用于犯罪，警方是无法追查的。日本等国家交易所禁止ZCASH等匿名币交易就是这个原因。
电报（telgram）由于信息采用不对称加密，政府也是无法监管的。俄国等国已禁用电报也是这个原因。
由于区块链的分布性特性，一国的政策无法根本改变或禁止一个区块链应用，区块链应用的监管是个全球监管的问题，所以从长远看区块链应用推广将会在深度和广度上推进国际合作发展。
