Where Is the COM port ? impossible to open serial monitor about g2 HOT 5 CLOSED

I also had this issue. The sollution is to tell windows to treat this device like a bossa USB serial device (Use the Bossa driver for TinyG2).

Here is how I fixed it:
Find the bossa.inf file on your system. Mine was in: c:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\drivers
Make a copy of that file and call it tinyg2.inf Then I edited the tinyg2.info file. Unfortunately I don't have the computer that I was working on so I have to post the changes I made later. But I think I changes the VID (vendor ID) and PID (Product ID).

Then I right clicked on the TinyG2 device and told windows I wanted to update the driver. Then I browsed to the tinyg2.info file and windows installed the bossa driver. Then TinyG2 showed up as a com port.

I'm able to communicate with G2 over serial, but tgFX will not connect to it.

Use this guys. TgFX does not work right now true. See if I can get it
working this weekend. U can send files with CoolTerm if u use CTS and the
send file option.

Sorry to reopen this thread, but I'm trying to get a Due/G2 setup configured on a Win8 x62 box that I was just forced to acquire this weekend (my old box died and don't have the time to breathe life back into it). I tried updating the driver for Tiny G v2 as it appears in Other Devices in Device Manager, but Win 8 complains that the driver file isn't digitally signed:

Is this just a Win8 configuration issue on my box?

Yes. You need to put win 8 in test mode to use unsigned drivers.
