The GTranslate plugin works well for Wordpress webpages and in different languages.

I'd rather die than move to wordpress.

I was only speaking from experience. There are also Joomla, Drupal, and HTML versions, according to the site - https://gtranslate.io/

We can't have Syncthing Project members dying.

We have a single static page. Installing a CMS just to be able to translate it sounds too much of an overkill.

I think the HTML version is a simple copy-and-paste widget that doesn't require a CMS.

Please, don't ever think about using gtranslator plugin, unless you want to look like bunch of fools in every Slavic country :)

Machine translation currently might give >80% success for a small number of languages but its not a realistic option. One way forward might be to use it as a first pass and call out for multilingual project members to take on the task of polishing (and maintaining) the results. Such members would need a high level in the target language but not necessarily be professional translators.

Syncthing already has an established translation community. Getting the translations is not an issue. The discussion on using automated translation tools is worthless.

The discussion is about how best to actually apply the translations, given that the website is a simple static page.

Sorry I missed that :-) - as it seems a simple site, why not serve the correct page based on the http headers plus add a combo box for good measure, though it will probably grow or change with time and if there are a bunch of languages to deal with, it may pay off to use a CMS.
