Correct. I'm also not happy with nargin, varargin, etc.. in the range_overlap example. Suggestions?

OK suggestions - remove that learning objective.
I'm teaching this tomorrow and intend to briefly outline what nargin etc do, but with a push for the learners to find out for themselves. Using the help and google will be valuable skills for novice programmers.

Maybe that can be added as a learning objective ;) (actually semi-serious about that idea)

This sounds interesting, give it a try and let us know how it goes. We'll discuss with some other instructors and see if it can be part of the lessons

Any feedback?

varagin is useful, but isn't actually required for that example I don't think. Perhaps we can simply drop it from the way the example is structured? If we only ever use two arguments, then the function can be written with two parameters can't it?

The introduction i.e. diagram explaining the task does however show 4 ranges which would be the input to this function.

Perhaps show the original example with two parameters, then a faded example as a challenge to extend the function to use any number of arguments with varagin?
