Probably - although I can imagine a use-case where people know what they are doing and just want it done so it should be controllable behaviour.

Hmm, I agree with your imagination.
But if I want to go with what you agree might make sense (= query before destroying modified content), do you think that would be hard? There is some status message when using your package about the modified flag, so perhaps the flag is fine, I just need to steal some elisp from ... somewhere ... to implement the same conditional exit as usually happens with destroying a modified buffer. ... Any suggestions?
Thanks! (BTW, I love this package, I use it all the time now!)

I'm re-opening this as I'm sure this configurable functionality is desirable. I just don't have time to look at it myself, however if someone else can contribute that's great.
As far as implementation details are concerned I suspect we can piggy-back on existing Emacs functionality. I would be stunned if there wasn't already a mechanism for dealing with this use case. It might be worth sending a query to the emacs-help mailing list for ideas?

Thanks for re-opening, I didn't intend to close it.
I agree that there must be hooks to enable this sort of thing, and I will look into it when I have time... which will likely be on the timescale of months, though!
