That does sound strange... I imagine this is to do with a stale bookmark (Apple's method of keeping a reference to an external "Files" based file). I'll have a look into this for you.

In the meantime, you could consider using iCloud directly. This would mean using the Strongbox iCloud folder. Once a file is in here, Strongbox will pick it up automatically, and sync back to it automatically. You might first need to create an iCloud database by creating a new database within Strongbox and selecting iCloud as the storage provider. You should then see the Strongbox folder in your iCloud drive. Any files that end up in that folder will then show up in Strongbox. So if you're willing to move the location of your database, you will have a much better experience. Let me know if you do this, how it works out.

I was going to try your suggestion tonight, but I ran into a new, non-Stongbox issue on my end. The Strongbox folder I see on my iOS device isn't showing up on my Mac in iCloud Drive. It looks like it doesn't contain any of the application folders that are on my iOS device except the Documents folder and the KeePass folder I created on my Mac that is synced with the master folder. Given my use case, I can't sync the master database with this folder in iCloud Drive on my Mac. I guess I'll wait to see what you figure out. Otherwise, this may only work as a quick-access read-only database that I periodically delete and relink. I have Strongbox linked to the master which is hosted on OneDrive, but it takes a bit longer to open so I thought the iCloud method would be a tad bit faster if I didn't need any of the information from a recent update.

Hi @Shad0wHawk, I'm afraid this one is a little difficult to handle correctly. Apple doesn't handle this stale bookmark situation well, and the best advice appears to be to re-add/create the bookmark manually. I've made a change in Strongbox which will go out with the next release, so that it at least won't crash. If you can get your iCloud working it would be the best way out of the situation for sure.

I understand and I appreciate you looking at it. I’ll figure out the best approach as far as iCloud goes. Everything works great with OneDrive so far so that’s probably the best route to go.
