Same problem here!
Problem solved by using android.os.AsyncTask.

@jharlap they used the compat one so they can supply there own executor. Whilst I appreciate the thought. I would of prefered them to not use AsyncTask and do it properly, I could link to the end of days how AsyncTasks are flawed.

Same problem, what we really need is a synchronous way to createToken()

There is a Yoyo fork which does this. We then wrap it using Rx.

I´m using rxjava too and still getting the error, why are they using an asynctask here?
How can I wrap it then?
