Unfortunately I can't replicate this issue and it works fine for me - emails are sent with files attached. It seems as though on your setup that the files are being closed (or haven't even been opened?) and that you'll somehow need to open them rather than calling seek() - if you can put together a patch for this I'll commit it to the project.
