For the sun, it's easy to show a halo of refracted light around the disc because SkyControl assumes that sun textures are 4x larger than the sun's disc. The default moon textures have discs that barely fit in the frame. To show halos around those discs, one approach would be to add custom moon textures (in the "Textures/skies/moon/" asset folder) with a quarter-size discs and the desired halo, then compensate by quadrupling the nominal lunar diameter. For a full-phase moon, for instance, you could simply copy "Textures/skies/suns/hazy-disc.png" to "Textures/skies/moon/full.png". For other phases, there would be extra work to generate appropriate textures.
