I solved all my problems by simply stopping the use of the Steam platform to launch games. I've installed Playnite, and now I'm very happy. Additionally, it has all the extra features that Steam doesn't offer for non steam games.

Check if you're using the Steam beta. If so, switch to the stable branch as it won't work with the beta.
