For what it's worth, I'm actually not seeing this in my setup using grequests 0.1.0 installed via pip.

Thanks for testing. Bizarrely, I'm still seeing the problem on my machine despite a recent instal-from-scratch of Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. Maybe it's a weird network (DNS?) problem here. I don't see this problem on other machines that I've tested on (including Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the same network). I'll close this issue for now, and will only re-open it if I can find conclusive evidence that the problem really is in grequests.
