I'm having a similar issue with an underscore instead of a space in my user dir. It shows up as a permission error, permission denied to the incorrect user dir which I am assuming is because it doesn't exist. Just mentioning in case it is related and helps to narrow it down while I search for a solution. *Edit: Actually I have another username with a space in it and I think it was looking in there, despite that not being where my env was, and falling down because of the same reason as above.

Hey folks, thanks for reporting. This is duplicate of issue #21662 and we'll try to fix it in our next version (5.5.4), to be released next week.
