Tried this out today, but there is simply to many bugs in different web browsers when it comes to SVG filters when you are using complex symbols like the symbols generated with MilSymbol. Had one bug in Safari and another in Chrome. If you only have to support one browser it might be possible to solve, but code wasn't good enough to include in a release.
