Thanks for reporting it here @razorfrog.

I find it really strange that it works on port 2525 but not in 587. Because there is no port specific logics.

Also did you try the latest version of the plugin? HTTP sending of latest version should respect reply-to (depending how it was set).

I'm having the same issue, and more.

However, in my case, the Reply-To header isn't being set at all for HTTP API, SMTP (587) or SMTP (2525) when sending via Gravity Forms.

Actually, now that I look at it more: the From Name, From Email, and Reply To fields set in Gravity Forms' notifications settings aren't being sent by SparkPost. SparkPost is using the default from name and email address set under Settings > SparkPost (instead of Gravity Forms') and ignoring the Reply To field completely.

I am using SparkPost v.2.1.0 and Gravity Forms v1.9.17.5 (both latest versions.)

Hello @rob
Yes, if you specify From name and email in the settings, it'll be used unless modified by other plugins. Those fields are optional though. I can't see how Gravity Form sets those fields because I didn't find the plugin in the wp plugins repo.

Hi @rajumsys

Gravity Forms is a paid plugin, so that's why it's not showing up. I don't think there's a free version. It costs $39/year for one site.

I will take a deeper look into Gravity Forms within the next couple of days and see if I can figure out why SparkPost isn't setting these fields. GF is a pretty popular plugin, so I'm sure we're not the only ones with this issue.

@rajumsys - send me an email ([email protected]) and I'll send a copy of the Gravity Forms plugin.

Looks like this may have been resolved in the latest version of the plugin (SparkPost v.2.1.0). Do you still see an issue @rob?

Here screenshots of the same email's headers sent using the three options:

SparkPost v.2.1.0 and Gravity Forms v1.9.17.5. From Name and From Email are blank in settings.

Looks like it has been resolved. If not, please feel free to re-open it. Thanks

I still can't get Reply-To to work.

  • Gravity Forms Version 1.9.18
  • SparkPost Version 2.2.1
  • Using HTTP API with a template

Note this should be resolved with the release of 2.3.0 - please read this article to understand how to set up templates for proper substitution: https://support.sparkpost.com/customer/portal/articles/2409547-using-templates-with-the-sparkpost-wordpress-plugin
