Hi again. I've tested more of your uploads in the 3D repository and came across some issues.
-1000x scaling
I am wondering why on earth you guys want the 3D files to be 1000x larger than actual size. Size issues should not be affected the 3D files, these issues are better taken at the pub after a few beers.
- This messes up the zooming function in browsers, and views. (You have to scroll like crazy just to zoom in 2 mm.)
The GitHub 3d viewer uses another auto scaling method and is exempt from this example :)
Example: http://www.youblob.com/shop/products/audiohack/boards/WIG-11029 - It also acts as an barrier for "drag'n drop" files into 3D prototyping.
Say you are building a robot and you get all the electronic 3d components needed. All these have to be scaled down to the correct size locally, Which makes a lot of extra unneeded work for the end users. - The ground 100x100x100 frame comes out only as a small dot in the 3D view.
Example: http://www.youblob.com/shop/products/electronics/development/arduino/boards/DEV-10116 - Not centered files
Example: http://www.youblob.com/shop/products/robotics/motors/steppers/ROB-10551
Good examples on how they should be:

We are still evaluating all of this, but to answer your question, the 1000X requirement comes from a project called EagleUp which automagically makes a 3D model from Eagle PCB files. SketchUp apparently has issues with mm-scale parts, so everything that comes from EagleUp has had mm converted to m. We're not delighted by this either, but given our limited resources using an automated system to generate models of the thousands of products we carry is preferable to the incalculable hours it would take to build all of these models by hand.

Hehe understandable, thanks for the clarification.
I did some searching and found this old discussion from 2010 about the same scaling issue. Seems SketchUp is still ...unfixed
