Sounds like a good idea, I'll check those pages

Thank you.

@comradekingu In short this means that WebLate is the best alternative as a localization platform (at least for this project as it is free and open source)?
Btw thanks for the explanations, i seem to have confused myself with Crowdin and Transifex. I'd seen something on these platforms offer free plans for open source projects somewhere, but I can't remember where, so I guess it was just a misunderstanding.

@RickyM7 At least Transifex used to not restrict its offering to non-commercial projects, but it always held strict limits on use/translators/hosted content, and negotiated pricing in its own favour and on its own terms once projects overstepped those. It is an easy mistake to make if you don't read the finer print etc.
With any interpretation of "free and open source", that makes it easier than it ought to be. https://hosted.weblate.org/hosting/
The libre software offerings are Weblate, Zanata, and translatewiki.
RedHat is moving away from Zanata, and with translatewiki you need to qualify as a project that makes sense to their portfolio of projects. I'd love for there to be more options, but fortunately Weblate is better than the proprietary offerings in my opinion, and that is a fortunate place to be.
Edit: While not a federated option, in terms of synergy Hosted Weblate already has NewPipe, SkyTube, YoutubeDL-Material, and FreeTube. Hopefully ImprovedTube soon too.
PeerTube is on there too come to think of it, which is a fine federated offering.
There are other instances of Weblate on https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/wiki/References bubu might allow you on there :)

In terms of self-hosting it is as-a-service-only, vs gratis for libre software and https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/blob/master/COPYING
I think Weblate requires mentioning you use their services on the repo for the "libre" plan now.
@RickyM7 Neither Crowdin nor Transifex is gratis for anything but strictly non-commercial software, as per their terms. They also monetize use by way of scripts. I haven't read the POEditor documents in detail, but it loads Google Analytics by default, so I have no interest.
