it's pretty quick for me, a few seconds. Are you using html/index.html ?

if you have any idea why this was happening in your app, but not the sockethub demo, then would be good to make note of here and close this bug.

the demo isn't working for me, i get '[00:30:10.275] TypeError: Not enough arguments to Document.createTextNode. @ http://localhost:42000/projects/sockethub/html/sockethub-example.js:181' when i click 'Register'

i doubt it's because of the app, they do the same register call. if it's fast for you then http://email.michiel.5apps.com/ will probably also be fast for you?

it must be something going wrong with the websocket handshake. maybe it's trying to resolve some network address and timing out before establishing the connection. last time i timed it, it took 24 seconds, which is really not acceptable. and this is on localhost, this is not network latency.

will try to obtain more data about it

Aha! That's an unnecessary line. I just removed it, and pushed (along with
another minor change, which is unrelated). If you get a chance to update,
let me how it goes.

Also, you don't need to push the register button, it should issue the
register onload, (after a 2 second delay, because sometimes remoteStorage
takes a second for the object to become ready).
