Snapdragon 800 hard reset about reicast-emulator HOT 18 CLOSED

what is your device? I have the galaxy note 3 (Snapdragon 800) and everything works perfect.

Hello skmp.
I am running the Xperia Z Ultra currently with android 4.3 but same issue existed on previous 4.2 as well.
One sure way to test t his is with Skies of Arcadia, right after the first battle, when the game is supposed to show you the victory window with experience points etc, it just freezes for a while then restarts the phone.
It does it with all games but this is the one I tested like 5 times and it always happened at the same spot.

It might be our stability issues being mishandled.

Related cases usually result in an app crash though. Not the whole device resetting.

If there is any need for beta testing, I am more than willing to help.
I have been overclocking, testing kernels, roms etc for a while now so I am used to it.
My phone is not OCed btw, and it is perfectly stable with everything else so I hope we can figure out what is wrong as gosh it looks super smooth..I was drooling running those games! :)

Could be possibly related to adreno driver. Qualcomm drivers are heavily bugged, including latest v53. Can confirm s800 does reboots, but like PsyMan is saying quick reboot. Tegra 4 doesn't suffer from this issues. Even when doa2 does crash on tegra 4 and gets you to folders list, s800 does reboot

.. Some other titles does reboot device at some point. I'm on v53

Made few additional tests, DoA is crashing on every SoC I've tried (s800,s400,Tegra 4) after choosing character, but on s800 it makes device reboot, so I guess it's indeed related to v@53 as the one on s400 is v@45, and now I remember that s800 started to reboot after it was updated to v@53.

Try running the emulator with the device connected to pc usb. On my note 3 (snap800) this is the only way to stop the hard reset when running some games.

@LongeKatt I really want to help solve this problem and I wonder if the logcat captured by the device itself using some applications help to identify the source of the problem

It can't be solved. That's half the fun. The log captured by this app is going to be far better than what's captured by a log app. Either way neither will have the info.

The last (unofficial) releases are no longer crashing for me so whatever was done, fixed it.

The App itself. From reports from other users even with Kitktat they had the issue but a few weeks ago a build was posted from some user that worked fine and the new ones I have downloaded work too. Just not the Market one but newer ones do.

It's a result of the "r6 Paradox"

r6 Paradox: The previous version on Google Play has issues that are resolved by current code, but new issues have been introduced preventing a new release from being published resolving the previous issues. This leads to a cycle known as the r6 Paradox where reports are made for resolved issues, but would only be replaced by reports of the new issues if a release were published.
