I have the same issue, it started today.
Caprine 2.58.0, Ubuntu 22.04

Okay learned something new. The webapp <www.messenger.com> has the same bug. I think I can confirm this is not a Caprine bug but a bug with the web app of Facebook itself.
EDIT:
This bug persists even in regular Facebook as a little chat window while on the homepage. Searching messenger bug on Facebook reveals dozens of messages complaining about this bug. Seems to be a Facebook problem. I’ll close this issue when Facebook fixes it.
