work-around: Set the error reporting level to exclude E_DEPRECATED (and E_STRICT) using:
error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED);
or set allow_call_time_pass_reference to On in php.ini (or via .htaccess php_flag or similar methods)

As this can be disabled by the user, marking as Invalid. SimplePie 1.x will keep compatibility with PHP 4 for the foreseeable future, until someone wishes to completely rewrite it for PHP 5.

By the way, the master branch is now PHP 5 only, and thus, this is fixed.
