--code mode for outputting code about llm HOT 1 CLOSED

I tried a bunch of variants on this and found that it's VERY hard to convince ChatGPT 3.5 not to include the markdown triple backticks. Here's the most advanced failed prompt I tried:

You are a code generating tool. Output just the code, without any
formatting - do not wrap it in a markdown code block. The output
will be saved directly to a file. Do not wrap in markdown backticks.

Do not wrap responses in markdown code blocks or backticks.

The output must not start or end with backticks, or explanatory text.

Just return the code.

Worked fine with GPT4, failed with GPT3.5.

So I ended up writing code that triggers on --code and, in addition to setting a system prompt, also removes the first and last line if they start with those triple backticks.
