Build 1.5.0 questions about showmewebcam HOT 4 CLOSED

We've never tested this, as we only own a Pi Zero, but you're welcome to try and help us to get this merged.

AFAIK the max resolution is 1920x1080 at 30 fps due to hardware reasons. You might wanna try to ask this here, as this is the wrapper we use: https://github.com/peterbay/uvc-gadget

• how do we access the wifi functionality for the pi0w build? i'm on the device via serial but ifconfig wifi shows no such device..

Wi-Fi has been disabled by this commit -- you should be able to revert it by and large and Wi-Fi will come back. I used SSH over Wi-Fi during the initial bring-up of the system so I know wireless used to work for me, it was the only way I got access to the system. I have nothing against bringing Wi-Fi back by yourself if you'd like to build the system yourself, but we will likely never make it easy to enable Wi-Fi as this is a huge privacy concern. I want the only thing to be able to control the system is the host computer connected by a physical wire.

Eventually, I think we can bring ethernet-over-USB via the composite USB port and SSH access if it does not hinder the startup process. This will bring some more advanced features along... But that's still some way away.
