You likely have the new build system enabled via Xcode. A temporary workaround until React Native supports (and in turn Shoutem updates the platform to support) the new build system is to manually set the Legacy build system via Xcode.
Open AppName/ios/AppName.xcworkspace , in Xcode, click on File -> Workspace settings... and then set the build system to the legacy one.
Also, for future reference, please direct app building related issues to the platform repository.

setting the build system to the legacy does not help.
I don't have this issue when I create app with react-native init
from shoutem.github.io.
