I get this related yet entirely unhelpful message when booting rails:
DEPRECATION WARNING: class_inheritable_attribute is deprecated, please use class_attribute method instead. Notice their behavior are slightly different, so refer to class_attribute documentation first. (called from <top (required)> at application.rb:7)
Took me quite a while to sort out what was throwing the error. Gem version 0.9.13, Rails 3.1.1. I've been seeing that error since about Rails 3.0.

This was fixed in 9f70403, use the git repo in your Gemfile until a new version is released.
