please try shogo82148/actions-setup-perl@main
.
it uses Perl built with -fPIC
option.
In my verification, I was successful in building Perl, but the subsequent tests failed:
https://github.com/shogo82148/unit/actions/runs/7831328441/job/21368895978
I'm going release a new version in this weekend.
from actions-setup-perl.
Could you tell me which version of Perl you used? The code in GitHubActions.pm is for very old Perl (less than Perl 5.8). If you are using newer Perl, for example, Perl 5.38, that code will not be used.
If possible, I would also like a YAML file defining a reproducible workflow.
from actions-setup-perl.
Oh interesting! Thank you for that bit of information. We are using 5.38
, so very strange.
The workflow is here: https://github.com/arbourd/unit/actions/runs/7804306280/workflow#L213-L226
The output is here: https://github.com/arbourd/unit/actions/runs/7804306280/job/21285970283
This is for NGINX Unit which is building a unit-perl
module. Oddly, the built-in Perl (5.34) workflow works fine.
Thank you for your help!
from actions-setup-perl.
I found similar error on Stack Overflow.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43203477/how-to-recompile-libperl-a-object-files-with-fpic-flag
from actions-setup-perl.
It looks that pre-installed Perl is configured with -Dcccdlflags=-fPIC
and -Duseshrplib
.
The result of perl -V
