Exporting variables. about shelljs HOT 5 CLOSED

I don't think Node's process.env lets you modify/export variables in the outer shell, so there isn't much ShellJS can do. Maybe @isaacs or @bnoordhuis have a better idea?

The best I have came up so far is this:

#!/bin/bash
export PS1=`node shell.js`

I am ok with that, but I always wondered if there is a way to access that PS1.

This. It's not a node limitation, it's just how environment variables work - they're local to the process.

And this is how it looks like. I like my console again.

The beef is that the script generates the PS1 variable, the nice formatting of it.
