[Bug]: Custom fields are not copied when duplicating an asset about shelf.nu HOT 5 CLOSED

I am selfhosting on docker for a small youth group in our town in order to manage our steadily growing inventory of sound and light equipment. It took me a long time to get the docker stuff to work (and two attempts after giving up last year) but I am just getting started and trying this.

I am missing a couple features that the other system, that I'm currently testing as well, has. But i did just get started and I am seeing that some of the features that i was looking for are indeed in active development here which is good to see.

1, Being able to have multiple similar assets as a countable sum without having to maintain many equal asset entries manually #912
2. Creating groups of assets that can be used in bookings and bulk update locations and owners #779
3. Self-hosting without supabase, local postgres and assets serving
4. User-friendly docker setup #906

hey @cn-ml, i want to follow up on your last comment and on the issue. So indeed duplicating currently doesn't work with custom fields values. You will still get your custom fields but the their values wont be duplicated.
I have created an issue for making this improvement: #986

Concerning your other questions, here are some points:

As you can see we have this planned but we dont have a specific release time yet. You can subscribe to updates on the issue #912 and once we start working on it you will be notified by github.

2. Creating groups of assets that can be used in bookings and bulk update locations and owners #779

We have just released kits. It doesnt cover all the functionality you refer to the we are releasing it in batches. Soon they will have locations and will work with bookings as well. Thats in progress.

3. Self-hosting without supabase, local postgres and assets serving

This is something that is not planned in the near future but we are considering it as an option.

4. User-friendly docker setup #906

As you know docker is not officially supported by us but its community supported. If you have ideas and want to improve it you can always open an PR and maybe collaborate with Anatoli to make changes you want.
