No that's not possible with this plugin and I think that's out of scope.
If you want to do that you can create your own plugin or use @semantic-release/exec
to run the git
command.
What would be the point of doing what you suggest?
You would have several issues:
- The commit will not be part of the release as the commit tagged would be the last one on the release branch (and the commit done by this plugin wouldn't be on the branch yet)
- If you don't merge the PR, you will have a discrepancy between what's on your repo and what was delivered (for example an updated
CHANGELOG.md
in the npm package but an old one in the repo)

Yeah we think doing this would probably introduce more complexity than it solves, I think an easier thing for our team would be to rejig around some permissions. I will close this.
