Talking this over with Calvin right now. The load callback is definitely something we want to add to make this possible. I think a good solution to this is a simple ready method like jQuery uses:

analytics.ready(function () {
  // Mixpanel stuff.
});

I'm hoping to hack on this tomorrow.

Rad 🍰 One constraint, I'd love to have multiple ready functions. We've got a few register_onces scattered around the page and it would be much easier than having to group them all together.

Gotcha, I'll make sure it works with multiple! Good call

Oh, another thing. We manually set the Mixpanel cookie name so we can do things like send super properties along with server events. We love the Segment.io web UI but don't get access to all the Mixpanel initialization properties. Any thoughts on how to fix that?

Curious to know, why do you need to change the Mixpanel cookie name to do that? I think they name your cookies by default mp_TOKEN_mixpanel where TOKEN is your site's permanent token that they give you.

Haha no worries, got the ready working, so it'll be added real soon

Hey guys, I'd be sure to get in touch with Mixpanel before introducing dependencies on the default Mixpanel cookie name. That name might be changed in the future since it isn't part of our published API.

(Full disclosure, I work for Mixpanel)

Totally, we've got no dependencies on our end! Closing this since it got added a couple days ago
