Unfortunately, I don't think we have a good answer for you other than forking and editing your own component.json to point at the built file. Component uses a different format than bower for its config - so there's a problem when it comes to using bower to build the file from the component.json.
There's been a little bit of discussion here, but it probably isn't something which will get fixed anytime soon.
Since analytics.js wasn't packaged for anything until recently, you can keep using the library in the same way as always (by dropping the script in), or you can fork it and edit component.json.
Does that all make sense?

I'd also like to be able to install analytics.js with bower and came across this issue. Just to note, it may be possible in the future to use an alternative json file for bower. See: bower/bower#39

I think if you add a .bowerrc file to the project, you can already use a different file than component.js for bower config. See Bower configuration for more details.
