The new seattlegeni gives no feedback while resources are being acquired. The easiest thing to do would be to add some javascript to disable the button when the user submits the acquisition request and show them a message on the page (with corresponding spinning icon, possibly) saying that vessels are being acquired. They wouldn't actually get live feedback but it would prevent them from wanting to click again, navigate away, etc.
(Note: in the new seattlegeni, navigating away or submitting a new request won't cause a problem. If they navigate away and come back to the myvessels page, they'll see the vessels that have been acquired so far for their request. If they try to request more or release one of those vessels, the request will block until the running acquisition request is complete.)
