I don't think shub
, as it's very specific to scrapinghub, is ever going to be featured on scrapy.org, is it?
from shub.
AFAIK, there are already plans for mentioning it. :)

Would there be problems when the user decides to expand his spiderfile into a full-blown project? (Can't think of any ad-hoc)
We should be explicit that deploy-spider
will completely overwrite a project (its Python egg, that is)

Hm, right.
Yea, creating the project on-the-fly would mean that if people want to deploy more than one spider to the same project, they'd need to go ahead and create a project.
If we go through with this, we should document that.

We're thinking on supporting standalone spiders, for example by being able to drop the spider code in a text box in dash, without having to pass through the command line for deploying. It would be an alternative way to deploy spiders, like Portia is already.

Are there any concrete plans to support project-less spiders in Dash/SC?

No concrete plans as of yet, but it's a feature I'd like to see. I hope to have some news soon!
