I'm having the same issue, OS X 10.9.2

from portia.

It called my attention that your virtualenv is here:

/Users/nateaune/.virtualenvs/portia

But then the error you show running portia says:

/Users/nateaune/Dropbox/code/portia/slyd/slyd/tap.py

You need to run portia from inside the virtualenv.

Cheers

UPDATE: I've got this working now by creating and activating the virtualenv first - and installing everything into that!

I store my virtualenvs in ~/virtualenvs but when I run the command I've
activated the virtualenv so it really shouldn't matter where it's located.

Are you saying that Portia expects the code to be in the same directory as
the virtualenv?

No, Portia doesn't expect the code to be in the same directory as the virtualenv. Did you activate your virtualenv before running pip install -r requirements.txt?

donnex avatar donnex commented on July 17, 2024

I just tried installing everything again.

I had my portia virtualenv activated, ran the pip install -r ... and everything worked fine. But then I tried twistd -n slyd I still got the same problem.

I found a simple solution to the problem. For me it worked when I exited the shell and activated my virtualenv in a new shell. Don't really know why but when I did twistd -n slyd ran just fine without the import error.
