I didn't understand what you mean.
Are you referring to the preview in the Finder column view mode?

The Quick Look preview is used by the operating system on all occasions when it is required to view the file.

For example:

  • on the Finder, when you press the space bar to show the preview of the selected file
  • on the Finder, when you open the info panel (with command-i shortcut or from the contextural menu)
  • on the Finder, when the option "show preview" is on (you can set it from view menu).
  • on the Finder on the gallery view mode, for the selected file
  • on the Finder on column view mode, for the selected file
  • on the standard Open/Save file dialog on column view mode

Sorry for being unclear. I meant that if you do not select

View -> Show View Options -> Show preview column

in my experience, you cannot preview the files. So after a new user installs QLMarkdown, they may be surprised that it doesn't show a quick preview when selecting a previewable file in the finder.

ah ok, but this is a necessity for all files, not just markdown ones
