Hi Chris,
the example you are using there was created for the GoldReflection theme and is not a DataSet issue. It was simply not part of the BlueCrystal theming change. You can set the theme to GoldReflection by using the second button on the left (of the outer shell of the demokit).
Making this work in BlueCrystal is not a priority, since it is only a specific example of control use not the control itself.
I guess it's a problem with margins, which changed with Blue Crystal. I will put this onto our list of low priority things to do, but I don't think this will get priority any time soon.
