Okay so just removing the two comments at the start fixed it. You can see the error here as well: play.rust-lang.org

Looks like the "comment" is actually in the string, here. The compiler seems to be complaining about the space that follows the escape (the "") as it wants to interpret what follows the escape as an escape character, however the space character isn't a valid escape character. A bit of an oversight with these "annotation" comments, I'd guess.
