I had this issue occur shortly after this issue was posted, so thanks for reporting it and for the feedback on how to remedy the crashing issue.
As far as something actionable to prevent this from happening to people in the future, could we have Runelite display a warning if we're using a version of Java which is unsupported by Runelite? @Adam-

Java 22 has shown to be unstable on Linux. I don't think anyone has looked into why, it might be a Java bug. If you do have steps to reproduce it that might be useful for someone looking at this later. We do not actually support 22 or really even try to make RuneLite work on it. I recommend downgrading to either 17 or 11.

thanks for the info. is it possible to set a launch flag for runelite to use 11/17 and keep 22 installed alongside?
