The issue is not that the page does not generate a URL when you have too many markers added, the issue is that the generated URL cannot be navigated to as it gives an HTTP 414 Request-URI Too Large return. The URL generated by the markers you gave for instance is linked here, and is 14.4kb
Edit: This is due to GitHub Pages limits on request URIs (which almost certainly can't be changed). We can, however, move this to a URL fragment to prevent it from being sent to the server.
