@aguynamedben It is not in our plans right now to support TimescaleDB. This looks very interesting though.
But if we have more requests from the community for TimescaleDB, we can add support for that.

I would like to understand your use case. How are you using TimescaleDB? What kind of time series data do you want to push to TimescaleDB with RudderStack?

Cool. Thanks for getting back to me.

So, first off... I'm fairly new at OLAP databases, data warehouses, etc. I'm not a TimescaleDB user or insider. I'm a software engineer worried about the performance of a desktop app. We currently use Segment -> Mixpanel. I wanted to pass technical metrics, i.e. "Memory Update" events through a system like RudderStack, and have it go into TimescaleDB with the "timestamp" field enabled by TimescaleDB's "hypertable" concept.

I got pretty far playing with all the parts.

So my use case would be "graph memory usage for these segments of users (i.e. using a tags system)". I got a similar thing working with Segment -> Redshift -> Mode as the UI, but TimescaleDB looks like it's pretty solid, and I like that it's implemented as a Postgres extension.

Cool stuff you have here... we'll consider looking at RudderStack as we continue to grow our analytics and monitoring.

@aguynamedben My guess is Postgres destination would work for Timescale DB too. Can you please set up Postgres as a destination in RudderStack and provide TimescaleDB credentials instead? Do let me know how it goes.

@SumanthPuram Sorry for not replying! Closing is fine. I was kicking the tires on this stack and moved onto something else. This is a really cool project I hope to use one day. 👍
