This page looks pretty much outdated to me.
This should be updated or removed. Maybe the update could be automated by
using the git history?Given the fact that it is easy now to see who contributed (and thus I think
everyone is receiving proper credits), I think it is OK to remove the page.
I'll do so now, but am open to changes. I think of sites like ohloh or
github as a good replacement.
Is there general agreement that this is reasonable argument?

As long as the Author info in the Git history is managed properly [0], this is more then sufficient for me.
[0] For patches without a proper Git header I suggest using git commit --author so you can attribute it properly

I have merged in the PR for addressing the Contributor page in master.

@mbiebl I use --author since you helped me getting started with git and I am very pedantic on setting the author information correctly. So the git history (except probably the early cvs import) should accurately reflect contribution activity.

@rgerhards I expected nothing less from you. Sorry if it came across as if I think the rsyslog git history isn't properly managed in that regard. It was more of a general remark.

no, no - no problem at all! Better make sure a potential trouble spot is
seen than to be sorry later. I always appreciate your hints!
